I picked up this 32" Plonic skimming blade thinking it would magically make my walls look pro, and it does leave a really smooth surface once you get the hang of it. It’s great for big open walls and ceilings where you just want long, clean pulls instead of a million little knife lines.The flip side is: this thing is huge and awkward at first. If your mud is even a little too thick or you don’t keep even pressure, you get chatter lines or skip spots that you have to go back and fix, and your shoulders will definitely feel it after a while. What really annoyed me, though, is that it showed up damaged—the end piece was half torn off and loose in the packaging, so I had to mess with it before I could even use the thing. For something this big and not exactly cheap, I expected better packaging and quality control.
